I have come quite far with my Capstone project, but I am not quite done yet. I have filmed everything and I have got the rough cut of the film done. I have 8 Posts in my Evidence page, I still got to add my evidence of me editing still. I still got to get my Editing done and start and finish my PowerPoint. I will get done my editing done on Monday the 5th and I'll get my powerpoint done on Tuesday and Wednesday. The most rewarding would be getting the filming done because I can visually see my project coming to life now.

Where I am at with my Capstone is in a not so ideal position. I NEED to get most of the filming done over the break. I am just over 50% done with my research and I still need to start on my script. Tonight, I am going to finish my research and get the base done for my script, but it wouldn't matter if I even had the script done now because I am going away to Whistler from the 14-18 and I have work on the 19th and 21st. So, I would start to film on the second week of the break, which doesn't leave a lot of time because I’m helping Melody with her Capstone filming. PLUS, I got to film parts to my video production project, and I need to practice for my Motorcycle Skills Test on the 26th. On the bright side I have the long weekend the week we get back, which will help a lot. I am planning to get my script while in Whistler so I will have it ready for when I get home. For my project proposal I need to add my research links and re do my core competencies. Some strengths I feel I have with this project is that I can get my work done in a sitting. What I mean by this, is that if I get started on a part of my project, I've gotten it finished on time. A weakness of mine would be getting the motivation to start parts of my project. I might have an hour to work on Capstone when I get home from work, but I’m usually really tired after work, which un-motivates me in doing my work. Hopefully I can change that for the coming weeks, while filming.
My Capstone goals between now and spring break are not that complicated. My first goal is to get all of my research done before the start of the break. The reason why I want to get my research done by then is so I can start on my script right away, which will be influenced by the research I do. Another goal of mine is to get actors for my film before spring break and to start planning filming days, so I can get that off of my shoulders. I want to accomplish all of my research and to start the script, so I can have the script done by the second week of the break. In order to do this, I’ll spend as much time as possible researching and creating the script. This might be a little but difficult because I’m working 5 days out of the week and we have some video production projects coming up in the near future, but I’ll find time. I will document my progress by typing out what I have done for that day and posting it, at the end of my research I’ll post my notes and research on the page and when I’m making the script, I’ll post screenshots of what I’ve done so far.
I feel like the draft proposal has prepared me to critically think about every detail about my project, which I haven't done before. That helped me get out many of the kinks still left in my plan. Another thing it help me with was getting me to actually plan out how and when I am going to be doing things. A strategy that I will be doing is writing down and planning everything that I will be doing. So today I've planned to pick and start to research my 4 genres for the film. I'll also not making these plans too tight, because I don't want to stress myself out. So, if I don't get it done today, there’s always tomorrow. Some obstacles that I still need to figure out is finding the time to film for the project. I feel like I should be getting the research done by the end of next week, and then the script by the start of spring break, so I can film over the break, but am I going too fast?
I have accomplished designing my website and getting it published. I have started my draft proposal and I feel like I have a good basic understanding of what I want to for my Capstone. I have completed the 16 personality test, the infographic assignment and the "who am I" worksheet attached to it, I have posted them to my website and handed them in. I have learned more about myself based on the 16 personality results and the test open my eyes more to how I react in different situations. One thing I feel like i'm learning about, is time management. I feel like I am going to need a lot of it in the coming weeks and i'm preparing myself to manage my time. I still need to add photos of myself to my website and to finish my draft proposal.
For my Capstone I mainly have one big idea, that is to make a film. The film could be about anything, but I already have an idea for it. I want to make a film about the different types of film genres. The pros to this idea is that I already have 4 years of video experience, so it'll make the filming and editing process easier for me. Another Pro is that I am very passionate about my films and confident about getting films done. Some cons to this idea is that making a film is very time consuming, it'll make it harder for me because I have a job and I am also taking video production this quarter. So i'll have more films to make on top of this one. Another con is that i'll have to learn/ research how to do VFX. I wouldn't mind doing this because I was going to have to do that anyways, but it would also take a bit of time to learn.
